Vic Folkert graduated from Hope College, where he was a mathematics major and physics minor. He continued graduate studies at Michigan State University 

After teaching high school math for a couple of years, he completed an MDiv degree at Western Theological Seminary.  He pastored Reformed churches in Chicago, Kansas City, Iowa, Idaho, and Nebraska. His wife, Nancy, earned an MA in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University. 

Vic and his wife Nancy retired in Conroe, Texas, where they are active in First Methodist Church. They lead a life group together, and Vic shares leadership in three other groups. 

Vic has written curriculum and facilitated courses for commissioned pastors in the Reformed Church in America, and he continues to serve on the Pastoral Formation Oversight Board.
